The series will also be available on MGM+ in several other countries, including the UK, Italy, Germany, Spain, Latin America, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg.
MGM+ describes the show as “a sweeping, romantic adventure, a modern take on the classic tale that brings historical authenticity, psychological depth, and a heightened focus on the relationship between Rob and Marian.”
The story is set after the Norman invasion of England. Rob, played by Jack Patten, is a Saxon forester’s son, while Marian, played by Lauren McQueen, is the daughter of a Norman lord. The two fall in love and work together to fight for justice and freedom. Rob becomes the leader of a group of rebel outlaws, while Marian infiltrates the royal court. Together, they aim to stop corruption and bring peace to the land.
The series also stars Sean Bean as the Sheriff of Nottingham, Lydia Peckham as Priscilla of Nottingham, Steven Waddington as the Earl of Huntingdon, and Connie Nielsen as Queen Eleanor of Aquitaine.
John Glenn serves as executive producer, along with Jonathan English and Todd Lieberman of Hidden Pictures.
Personally, I think this new take on Robin Hood looks promising. With historical depth, a focus on the central romance, and Sean Bean in the cast, it could be a fresh and exciting version of the classic story. What do you think about this reboot?
