Malaysia Airlines Flight 370, or MH370 for short, was a commercial flight that parted from Malaysia bound for the city of Beijing in China. The plane’s last communication with air control was done around 1 a.m. on March 8, 2014. It all seemed like a very normal flight, but no one knew it wasn’t.
38 minutes after the airplane took off, it disappeared from all radars and was never seen again. The search for the plane began immediately, with Malaysia Airlines taking the toll of the initial search. It all became extremely strange because, not even when planes crashed, they just completely disappeared from the radars. Experts begin to speculate possibilities about what happened to the plane, and there are many. What is very certain is that it seems like the entire plane simply shut down.
However, according to the data presented by the Inmarsat company, the plane went back online for a moment before disappearing. What could have happened to the plane? The authorities, including the airline, take the most logical position: that the plane crashed because of a malfunction. However, as the days pass, it becomes clear that this disappearance is something else. Why? Because following the flight route and the Inmarsat data takes the search party to a place in the Indian Ocean where there is nothing.
MH370 was a big flight, a 777 plane. This means that at least big chunks of debris should be visible to the eye and, of course, by ocean search tools. However, in this case, there is nothing to be seen. MH370 has just disappeared from the face of the Earth. The families of the people who were aboard the plane, passengers, and crew are all expecting news from the authorities, and it is here where things start getting quite complicated. The authorities informed us that MH370 made a U-turn and followed a different route from the one they should have taken.
What Are The Different Theories About MH370?
There are different theories for what could have happened to the plane, but the documentary presents two that are the most relevant and least crazy. Some theories involve aliens and other fringe kinds of stuff, but these theories, while equally wild, are more grounded in reality. And they are based on several discrepancies that reports, volunteers, and experts have found in contrast with the Malaysian government’s official narrative. However, the captain was very well-liked and one of the most professional and veteran captains in the airline. For everyone, it becomes weird for the captain to reroute his plane, and they fly into the South Indian Ocean until the fuel runs out. However, there have been several examples of this in the past, so it cannot be discarded.
The other possibility is that someone else managed to hijack the plane and then reroute it, not towards the South Indian Ocean, but towards Kazakhstan’s desert. Some experts propose that there were political motivations for the plane disappearance and that Russians might be involved, as this is not the first time they have done something like this. Of course, there is no proof that something like this happened other than the fact that the entire plane shut down. This could only happen when the entire plane malfunctioned, which is rare, or somebody did it from the electronics bay.
