Michael B. Jordan and Juno Temple are set to star in a new animated comedy called Swapped, which will be released on Netflix in 2026.

The film, created by Netflix and Skydance Animation, was previously known as Pookoo. A new still from the movie was shared by the studios, giving fans a first look at the characters.

The story takes place in the Valley, an animal kingdom full of colorful creatures. Jordan voices a small woodland animal, while Temple plays a royal bird.

A magical mishap swaps their bodies, forcing the two natural enemies to live in each other’s skin, or rather, feathers and fur. Together, they go on a chaotic adventure while trying to figure out how to return to their original forms.

Nathan Greno, known for directing Tangled, is at the helm, with the script written by John Whittington along with Christian Magalhaes and Robert Snow. The film is produced by John Lasseter, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Mary Ellen Bauder Andrews.

Talking about the movie, Greno told reporters, “Swapped is an unpredictable, emotional ride — full of humor, spectacle, and heart.” He also explained that the team drew inspiration from live-action nature documentaries to create a world that feels lively and real.

On the performances, Greno praised Jordan and Temple, saying, “Every moment between them feels alive — funny one second, deeply moving the next. Their chemistry lifts the story and gives Swapped its wings.”

Fans can expect a mix of comedy and heartfelt moments as the woodland creature and the bird learn to live in each other’s bodies. Questions like how the little animal will handle wings and how the bird will manage fur set the stage for a fun and chaotic story.

Swapped promises to be a family-friendly adventure full of laughs, action, and touching moments. What do you think about the body-swap concept for these characters? Share your thoughts in the comments.
