Miley Cyrus Debuts a Bold String Cami Look in Maybelline Campaign
Miley Cyrus is officially redefining the intersection of music and cosmetics with her new global partnership with Maybelline New York. The pop powerhouse was recently spotted at the legendary Electric Lady Studios in New York City.
She was busy filming new campaign material that leans heavily into her rock-and-roll heritage. In a series of striking promotional shots, the singer wore a delicate, lacy cami top held together by thin strings, a choice that perfectly aligns with her raw and honest aesthetic.
This collaboration is built on the idea of merging her boundary-breaking spirit with a brand legacy focused on self-expression. As part of the multi-year deal, Cyrus is even using her distinctive voice to put a contemporary spin on the world-famous jingle.
She noted that her history with the brand goes back to her childhood, stating that I remember singing the Maybelline jingle as a kid and imagining it was me on the screen. Now, it is.
For Cyrus, the partnership feels like a natural extension of her current creative direction, often referred to as her Something Beautiful era. She views her look as an essential part of her performance.
Explaining that you cannot erase makeup from music and that within music, there’s performance and honesty—makeup enhances both. The campaign encourages her fans to draw inspiration directly from her environment in the recording booth, featuring products like the Super Stay Vinyl Ink.
Outside of the makeup world, Cyrus has had an incredibly productive start to the year following a massive year in 2025. Last year, she released her ninth studio album, Something Beautiful, which she described as a “pop opera” inspired by experimental visuals and themes of healing. The project was accompanied by a surreal musical film that premiered at the Tribeca Festival and was eventually released for streaming on Disney+ and Hulu.
Her impact on the film industry has also been growing, as she recently contributed the ballad Dream as One to the soundtrack of James Cameron’s Avatar: Fire and Ash. Her work on the track earned her the Outstanding Artistic Achievement Award at the Palm Springs International Film Festival in January. While on the red carpet, she expressed a strong desire to return to acting, telling reporters that I hope some brilliant mind in here has the right thing for me.
The singer also remains a significant figure in the awards circuit, having secured her third Grammy win in 2025 for her country collaboration II Most Wanted with Beyoncé. This followed her historic 2024 wins for the hit single Flowers, which took home Record of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance.
Beyond her musical achievements, she continues to lead her Happy Hippie Foundation and the recently launched Miley Cyrus Foundation, which focuses on supporting diverse groups of mothers.
While fans are eagerly speculating about a potential reprisal of her role as Hannah Montana following some light teasing at recent events, her current focus remains on her avant-garde musical projects.
