Millie Bobby Brown Dazzles in Whimsical Cottagecore Dress at Her First Dog Rescue Gala
Millie Bobby Brown proved her love for animals is just as strong as her style sense at her first ever dog rescue gala on March 14. The actress and animal advocate hosted the event for her nonprofit, Joey’s Friends, which rescues dogs from high-kill shelters and gives them a second chance at life.
Millie looked radiant in a floor-length floral prairie dress with long puffed sleeves and a square neckline. The bodice was fitted and shirred, while the tiered skirt flowed gracefully to the floor.
She paired the dress with chocolate-brown ballet flats and styled her hair in soft waves, pinned back with matching floral clips. Her makeup was simple, with a natural glow and a soft pink lip, letting her whimsical outfit take center stage.
The gala’s atmosphere matched Millie’s cottagecore vibe. Event planner Jove Meyer designed the decorations to feel like a southern home, complete with blue-and-orange floral arrangements, puppy paintings, framed dog photos on tables, and bone-shaped treats.
Fans got a peek on Instagram as Millie shared photos of herself kissing a large dog, speaking to the crowd, and smiling alongside her husband, Jake Bongiovi. In her post, she wrote, “It was an incredible evening filled with community, compassion, and purpose. Most importantly, we raised awareness for rescue dogs and the importance of second chances. This mission has always been rooted in love and continues as we work to find every dog the furever home they deserve.”
Millie’s passion for animals goes beyond her nonprofit. She has 62 pets in total, including 25 farm animals, 23 foster dogs, 10 personal dogs, and four cats. She shared with BBC Radio 1 last year, “I have 25 farm animals, and then I have 23 foster dogs, and then I have 10 dogs in my house that are my personal dogs, and four cats.” Joey’s Friends, founded in 2022, focuses not just on feeding and sheltering rescued animals, but also on nurturing their emotional well-being.
This event comes during a major career shift for Millie, who recently said goodbye to her breakout role as Eleven in Stranger Things. In a livestream, she told fans, “It’s been such a huge part of my life, but I’m ready to see what else I can do.” The gala offered a chance to celebrate both her love for animals and her next steps beyond the screen.
It’s inspiring to see a star like Millie use her fame to make a real difference for animals while keeping her style playful and heartfelt. Her cottagecore look perfectly matched the spirit of the night, showing that compassion and fashion can go hand in hand.
