The new Mission: Impossible movie is on track to make a big splash at the box office. Titled The Final Reckoning, this could be the biggest opening weekend ever for the long-running franchise.

Early tracking says the film could earn well over $60 million in its first three days. That would beat the previous record held by Mission: Impossible – Fallout, which opened with $61 million in 2018.

This time, The Final Reckoning arrives over Memorial Day weekend. That’s a big weekend for movie releases, and this year is looking much stronger than last year. In 2024, Furiosa and Garfield led a weak $132 million total. But 2025 is shaping up to be much better.

A tracking company called Quorum has been watching audience interest six weeks before release. Their data shows that Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning has a high awareness score of 59. That means many people know the movie is coming and plan to see it. It also has a high score among people who want to see it in theaters rather than wait to watch it at home.

Even though it’s still early, this strong interest suggests the film could break records. The buzz is expected to grow even more after the movie’s world premiere in London and a special screening at the Cannes Film Festival next month.

Fans are excited because this film is said to be the final chapter in the Mission: Impossible series. With high action, big stunts, and Tom Cruise returning as Ethan Hunt, it looks like a must-see event.

Memorial Day weekend has been big for Tom Cruise before. In 2022, Top Gun: Maverick made over $126 million in just three days. That became his biggest opening ever. If The Final Reckoning can match or beat that, it will mark another huge win for Cruise and the franchise.

So, get ready — Ethan Hunt is back, and this mission might just be the biggest one yet.
