‘Modern Family’ Reunion Has Fans Buzzing — But Sofia Vergara Completely Steals the Show
Sofía Vergara recently gave Modern Family fans a reason to celebrate by reuniting with her former co-stars for a heartfelt get-together. The actress, who famously portrayed the vibrant Gloria Delgado-Pritchett for eleven seasons, shared several photos on Instagram alongside Julie Bowen and Jesse Tyler Ferguson. The group was also joined by Ferguson’s husband, Justin Mikita, proving that the bonds formed on the set of the hit ABC sitcom remain as strong as ever.
For the casual outing, Vergara opted for a sophisticated monochromatic look, wearing a form-fitting chocolate-brown knit dress paired with a leather jacket in a matching earthy tone. She completed the ensemble with a beige handbag and let her long tresses fall loosely over her shoulders. One particularly popular photo featured a smiling selfie of the trio, which Vergara simply captioned Reunited! followed by several red heart emojis.
This gathering is just the latest in a series of “mini-reunions” that the cast has enjoyed since the show concluded in 2020. Vergara has previously hosted her former castmates at her Los Angeles home, famously poking fun at Ty Burrell’s absence during one event by having the group pose with a framed photograph of him.
She recently expressed that the cast remains in constant communication via a large group chat, stating that we are still like a family and continue to support each other’s professional and personal milestones.
While the pandemic initially made staying in touch difficult right after the series finale, the actors have made a concerted effort to reconnect over the last two years. Vergara noted in a recent interview with People that although they briefly lost contact due to the world shutting down just two weeks after they wrapped, they have since successfully bridged that gap. Fans in the comments were quick to voice their nostalgia, with many pleading for a formal reboot or a televised reunion special.
Beyond her social life, Sofía Vergara is heading into a massive year with a diverse array of projects. She recently teamed up with Oscar-winning Octavia Spencer for a high-profile health campaign titled “Detect the SOS.” The initiative, which focuses on early kidney disease detection for those with high blood pressure or diabetes, will feature a cinematic 30-second commercial titled “Mission: SOS” during Super Bowl LX on February 8. The ad reportedly features both stars in leather-clad roles as they carry out a “top-secret mission” to promote life-saving medical testing.
In addition to her advocacy work, Vergara recently made a splash on the red carpet for the premiere of Infinite Icon: A Visual Memoir, a new documentary about Paris Hilton. Dressed in a strapless chocolate leather bustier gown.
