Morgan Freeman has openly criticized President Donald Trump during a live TV interview, calling him a “convicted felon” and saying he is “leading us down a s*****.” The 88-year-old actor made the remarks while promoting Prime Video’s new historical drama, The Gray House, which he executive produced, according to MS NOW.

During his appearance on The Last Word With Lawrence O’Donnell, Freeman was asked about his view of the world today. He responded with blunt honesty, saying, “Well, we have somebody sitting in the White House who is leading us down a s**hole.” He continued, “I can’t personally understand how a convicted felon… convicted! [Someone with] 34 felonious counts of wrongdoing gets to be president. How do you do that?”

Freeman also addressed those defending Trump’s eligibility despite the convictions. “I don’t care! That ruling went down before he stepped into the Oval Office. It just doesn’t make sense to me,” he said.

Trump was found guilty in 2024 by a unanimous 12-person jury in New York of all 34 counts in a hush money case. The charges involved falsifying business records to cover up payments to Stormy Daniels during the 2016 campaign. The jury determined that Trump committed these actions to conceal or commit other crimes, including violations of state and federal tax laws and the Federal Election Campaign Act.

In addition to his political comments, Freeman spoke about AI on CBS Mornings. He raised concerns over companies using AI to replicate his voice or likeness. “I’ve got lawyers,” he said, making it clear he would take legal action if necessary.

However, he noted that he had previously been compensated for the use of his voice, recalling a 2011 commercial for a British insurance company that used the tagline “MoreThan Freeman.” “I said: ‘Yeah, that works,’” Freeman added.

Freeman’s comments show that he is willing to speak boldly about issues that matter to him, whether political or technological. He doesn’t shy away from controversy and continues to use his platform to express his opinions. What do you think about Freeman’s remarks on Trump and AI? Share your thoughts in the comments.
