Ms. Marvel Showrunner Explains The Post-Credit Scene

The newest MCU series Ms. Marvel concluded yesterday with the sixth episode. The final episode has set up the stage for Iman Vellani’s return as Kamala Khan next year in The Marvels, the sequel to 2019’s Captain Marvel movie.

Brie Larson debuted in the MCU in 2019, starring in the first Captain Marvel movie and Avengers: Endgame. She made a brief appearance in the post-credit scene of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, and most recently, she appeared in the post-credit scene of Ms. Marvel series, which directly ties into the upcoming movie The Marvels.

In the post-credit scene of the series, Kamala was in her bedroom, when her bangle activated, teleporting her to who knows where, and Carol Danvers suddenly appeared in the bedroom in her place. We could’ve seen that Carol was confused when she realized she was in the bedroom of her biggest fan. After saying “No, no, no, no, no”, Carol left the bedroom, and we can only imagine how surprised Kamala’s parents will be downstairs.

The showrunner of the series, recently opened up about the post-credit scene, confirming that everything is set to be resolved in July 2023, when The Marvels is set to open in theaters.

“That is Carol Danvers in Kamala’s bedroom. What you’re seeing is exactly what you think you’re seeing. That’s her, there’s no magic there. All I can say beyond that is to enjoy the movie in one year’s time.” — Bisha K. Ali via Deadline

Brie Larson and Iman Vellani are both set to reprise their roles in The Marvels. Teyonah Parris is set to reprise the role of Monica Rambeau from WandaVision, and Samuel L. Jackson is set to return as Nick Fury. Zawe Ashton is set to play the unknown villain.

Directed by Nia DaCosta, The Marvels is set to premiere on July 28, 2023.
