‘Mushoku Tensei’ Season 3 Cour 2 Is Officially Coming, and Rudeus Is on a Collision Course With the Dragon God
Few isekai series have built the kind of devoted following that ‘Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation’ enjoys, and the question of a Season 3 Cour 2 has hung over fans for weeks. After a dark and emotionally heavy summer run, the wait for answers is finally over.
The anime has taken its time reaching this point. The first season aired between January and December 2021, while the second ran from July 2023 to July 2024. The third season premiered in July 2026, adapting Rifujin na Magonote’s light novel with illustrations by Shirotaka.
This season was always expected to be the franchise’s biggest yet. Its first run spanned 14 episodes, beginning with a special two-episode premiere. Still, no official split had been confirmed, leaving fans to rely on listings and speculation.
That uncertainty ended on September 27; ‘Mushoku Tensei‘ Season 3 Cour 2 is officially confirmed. The news arrived right after Episode 14 finished airing, and the second cour will premiere in 2027.
The reveal came with a celebratory end card. The illustration thanks viewers for watching and asks them to look forward to the 2nd cour, and an official teaser confirmed the anime will continue in 2027 with Studio Bind. The teaser also hinted at what lies ahead. Anime Corner noted that the new footage teases the battle against Dragon God Orsted, one of the series’ most significant threats.

The first cour ended on a grim note. The anime entered its darkest episodes yet with the introduction of future Rudeus and his diary, with the latest episode concluding that arc. Episode 13, titled ‘The Diary’, aired just a week earlier on September 20.
Those revelations reshaped Rudeus’s path. He learned what a terrible future he could face if he kept blindly listening to the Man-God, but he still can’t openly challenge the entity. As a result, he’s now been tasked with killing the Dragon God, Orsted.
That sets up a potentially devastating confrontation. ComicBook.com noted that if Rudeus fights Orsted in full, there may be something he can’t come back from over the course of the season.
An exact premiere date hasn’t been revealed yet. The second cour is confirmed for 2027, but no concrete release window has been announced so far. Some fan trackers have reported the second half will run 13 episodes, bringing Season 3 to 27 in total, though that hasn’t been officially confirmed.

Some outlets have made educated guesses based on past patterns. One analysis argued that April 2027 looks like the most realistic window, pointing to Studio Bind’s habit of using split courses to preserve animation quality.
The production team remains consistent. Ryosuke Shibuya directs, with character designs by Sanae Shimada and Ryota Furukawa, music by Yoshiaki Fujisawa, and animation by Studio Bind. Crunchyroll has been streaming Season 3 as part of its Summer 2026 lineup.
The split also reflects a broader industry trend. ‘Mushoku Tensei’ joins several major franchises adopting extended release schedules this year, spacing out courses to maintain quality rather than airing without interruption. For fans eager to see how Rudeus handles his most dangerous mission yet, the countdown to 2027 has officially begun.
