‘My Hero Academia’ Drops Final Season Trailer Ahead of October Release
My Hero Academia fans finally got the news they’ve been waiting for. Toho Animation has released a brand-new trailer for the anime’s eighth and last season, which is set to air on October 4, 2025.
After nearly ten years, the series is heading toward its grand finale, and the new footage makes it clear that the story is going out with a huge showdown.
The trailer gives fans a better look at the final battle between Deku and Shigaraki. It also shows the heavy destruction caused by their clash and Deku’s determination to save the broken boy still hidden inside Shigaraki. At one point, even Nana Shimura tells Deku to end Shigaraki once and for all, but he refuses to give up on him.

Along with the new scenes, the trailer also reveals the opening theme song for the last season. The track is called The Revo and is performed by Porno Graffitti. Longtime fans will recognize the band since they also performed the very first opening of My Hero Academia back in 2016. Having them return for the final opening makes the series feel like it has come full circle.
The new season’s animation looks just as impressive as before, with Studio Bones putting everything into these final episodes. Viewers also get glimpses of several familiar faces rallying behind Deku, including his classmates, Hawks, Lady Nagant, All Might, and even his mother. A few mysterious shots, like one that fans are already calling “Chekov’s volcano,” have sparked even more excitement and theories online.
The trailer was dropped just ahead of the Hero x Villain Fest event, making the timing perfect. While many fans have been keeping busy with the spin-off Vigilantes, the final countdown for the main story has officially started. After nearly a decade of action, laughs, and tears, My Hero Academia is preparing to close its story with an emotional and action-packed finale.
