NASA has publicly addressed Kim Kardashian after she suggested that the 1969 moon landing might not have happened.

The comments came during Thursday’s episode of The Kardashians, where Kardashian questioned the historic Apollo 11 mission while speaking with co-star Sarah Paulson.

During the show, Kardashian said she didn’t believe the astronauts actually went to the moon. “I don’t think we did. I think it was fake. I’ve seen a few videos on Buzz Aldrin talking about how it didn’t happen. He says it all the time now, in interviews. Maybe we should find Buzz Aldrin,” she told Paulson.

She also mentioned sending her co-star “a million articles” about the mission and expressed doubt about Aldrin’s accounts, saying he had “gotten old and now he likes slurs.”

NASA acting administrator Sean Duffy responded to the claim on X, firmly rejecting it. “Yes, we’ve been to the Moon before… 6 times!” he wrote, tagging Kardashian. He also highlighted the Artemis program, which is working to return astronauts to the moon, noting it is progressing “under the leadership of President Donald Trump.” Duffy added, “We won the last space race and we will win this one too.”

Kardashian later admitted in a confessional on the show that she often focuses on conspiracy theories. “I center conspiracies all the time,” she said.

The comments have sparked discussion online, with some criticizing Kardashian for questioning a well-documented event while others have debated NASA’s response. The exchange highlights how celebrity statements on historical topics can quickly draw public attention and controversy.

It’s surprising that a high-profile celebrity would publicly question one of the most documented events in history. NASA’s clear response serves as a reminder that the Apollo missions are a proven part of our history. What do you think about Kardashian’s claim? Share your thoughts in the comments.
