Netflix Drops Passionate First Look at New ‘Pride and Prejudice’ Series
Netflix has given fans their first look at its upcoming limited series adaptation of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice, promising plenty of romance and longing. The streaming giant released a teaser on Tuesday, offering a glimpse of the tension between Emma Corrin’s Elizabeth Bennet and Jack Lowden’s Mr. Darcy.
In the short clip, Elizabeth is shown sitting on a rooftop at sunrise, lost in thoughts of Mr. Darcy. The teaser flashes between moments of the pair, from glimpses in a carriage to a close encounter during a dance.
Their hands brush over flowers and a rock, recalling the iconic hand-touch moment from the 2005 film adaptation. The teaser ends with a striking shot of Darcy on horseback, hinting at the sweeping romance to come. Netflix has confirmed the series will premiere in fall 2026, though no exact date has been announced.
The six-part series is described as a faithful adaptation of Austen’s novel. It is written by Dolly Alderton, known for Everything I Know About Love, and directed by Euros Lyn of Heartstopper fame. Alderton, Lyn, and Corrin are also executive producers, alongside Laura Lankester, Will Johnston, and Louise Mutter for Lookout Point, with Lisa Osborne producing.

Speaking about the project, Alderton said, “Once in a generation, a group of people get to retell this wonderful story and I feel very lucky that I get to be a part of it. Jane Austen’s ‘Pride and Prejudice’ is the blueprint for romantic comedy – it has been a joy to delve back into its pages to find both familiar and fresh ways of bringing this beloved book to life. With Euros Lyn directing our stellar cast, I am so excited to reintroduce these hilarious and complicated characters to those who count ‘Pride and Prejudice’ as their favorite book, and those who are yet to meet their Lizzie and Mr. Darcy.”
Alongside Corrin and Lowden, the series features an ensemble cast including Olivia Colman, Rufus Sewell, Freya Mavor, Jamie Demetriou, Daryl McCormack, Louis Partridge, Rhea Norwood, Siena Kelly, Fiona Shaw, Hopey Parish, and Hollie Avery.
This adaptation promises a fresh yet faithful take on the timeless romance. What do you think of the first teaser? Are you excited to see Corrin and Lowden as Elizabeth and Darcy? Share your thoughts in the comments.
