Netflix Is Interested In Making A ‘Squid Game’ Video Game
Squid Game, a global Netflix drama that quickly turned into a worldwide phenomenon could be adapted into more kinds of media. Last Tuesday there was a real-life interpretation of the game from the show that fans could’ve attended, and now there’s even a possibility that there could be a video game based on the show.
In an interview with Hollywood Reporter, Netflix’s Asia executive Minyoung Kim said:
“We’ve been getting an overwhelming but happy volume of requests from [Netflix] — from the consumer product department, from the gaming group, from our other international teams. We are looking at multiple different areas — from games, consumer product and others — to really figure out what we can bring to our audiences to increase their affinity toward our content and give them more joy, while staying true to the world that our creator [Hwang Dong-hyuk] has built.”
Squid Game is the most-watched show in the history of Netflix, with over 111 million viewers. Although season 2 still hasn’t been confirmed, fans believe there’s a huge possibility the show will return. And even with the possible season 2, fans could get so much more.
