Ella Beatty has been cast in the lead role as Lizzie Borden. The cast also includes Rebecca Hall as Abby Borden, Lizzie’s stepmother, and Vicky Krieps as the family maid Bridget Sullivan. Charlie Hunnam is in talks to play Lizzie’s father, Andrew Borden, while Billie Lourd and Jessica Barden will portray Lizzie’s sister Emma and Nance O’Neil, respectively.
According to Netflix sources, the production has aimed to capture both the tension and drama of the historic events.
Despite anticipation, the 3rd season of the show, focusing on Ed Gein, received largely negative reviews when it premiered on October 3. Critics criticized its excessive graphic violence, long runtime, and factual inaccuracies. Some also found the subplots and meta-commentary distracting, though opinions on Hunnam’s performance were mixed.
Meet the monster who inspired it all.
