Netflix Prepares to Launch Several Multiplayer Party Games on Your TV This Holiday Season
Netflix is taking a big step into the world of multiplayer gaming on TV. The streaming giant has announced that a set of five party games will soon be available for subscribers to play directly on their televisions this holiday season.
According to Netflix, the process is simple: choose a game from a new tab and link your phone to act as a controller. The company says the setup is “as easy as streaming a show on a Friday night.”
The initial lineup of games is a mix of familiar favorites and new ideas. It includes Lego Party, Party Crashers: Fool Your Friends, which seems inspired by the popular social deduction game Among Us, along with versions of Boggle and Pictionary.
Completing the list is Tetris Time Warp, which looks similar to a mini-game included in Digital Eclipse’s Tetris Forever collection from last year.
Netflix has been exploring gaming for several years, mainly through mobile titles. But in early 2025, the company made it clear that cloud-based, multiplayer TV games were a key focus.
Netflix has not yet shared an exact release date for the first wave of TV games, but the company says they are “coming soon.” The move signals Netflix’s intention to turn living rooms into social gaming hubs, letting friends and family play together in the same room using their phones as controllers.
This new approach could change how people think about TV gaming. It combines the simplicity of streaming with interactive gameplay, offering an easy way to get into games without a console or complicated setup. Fans of casual multiplayer games should find this especially appealing, as it allows quick, social play right from the comfort of their couches.
