Toby Wallace is officially joining Netflix’s upcoming live-action Assassin’s Creed series as a series regular, sources say. Wallace, known for his roles in Euphoria and The Bikeriders, will play the co-lead in the high-stakes thriller inspired by Ubisoft’s best-selling video game franchise.

The series follows a secret war between two hidden factions. One faction wants to control humanity’s future, while the other fights to protect free will. T

The story takes place across major historical events, and according to sources, the characters in the show will be different from those in the games, according to Deadline.

Netflix first partnered with Ubisoft in 2020 to bring Assassin’s Creed to the small screen. Production is expected to begin in 2026 in Italy, though the exact historical time period of the series has not been confirmed.

Roberto Patino and David Wiener are the showrunners, and executive producers include Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, Austin Dill, Genevieve Jones from Ubisoft Film & Television, and Matt O’Toole.

Assassin’s Creed is one of the most successful video game franchises ever, with over 230 million units sold worldwide.

Wallace’s role marks a return to Netflix, where he previously starred in the 2019 YA drama series The Society. He recently wrapped work as a series regular on HBO’s Euphoria Season 3. His other recent projects include Jeff Nichols’ The Bikeriders with Tom Hardy, Jodie Comer, and Austin Butler; Ron Howard’s Eden alongside Jude Law and Sydney Sweeney; Charles Williams’ Inside with Guy Pearce; and Justin Lin’s Last Days. On television, Wallace also appeared in Danny Boyle’s limited series Pistol, playing Sex Pistols guitarist Steve Jones.

The Australian actor has received critical acclaim for his work, winning the 2020 AACTA Best Lead Actor award and the 2019 Marcello Mastroianni Award for Best New Young Actor at the Venice Film Festival for Babyteeth.
