Netflix has released a new trailer for the second season of its live-action One Piece series, and the streamer confirmed the show will return on March 10. The update was shared as part of Netflix’s promotion for the upcoming season and gives fans their clearest preview yet of what is ahead for the Straw Hat crew.

Season 2 begins after a long break of about three years. This time, the story moves beyond the East Blue and finally enters the Grand Line. The new season promises bigger locations, stranger islands, and more powerful enemies. Netflix says the journey will bring Luffy and his crew closer to the legendary treasure they have been chasing.

The trailer introduces Tony Tony Chopper, who is played by Mikaela Hoover. He is shown learning what it means to be a pirate. In the preview, he hears the line, “someone who has adventures and dreams, and never ever gives up.” The moment sets the tone for the new season, which focuses on bigger dreams and tougher challenges.

Fans also get a look at new locations such as Loguetown and Whiskey Peak. The Straw Hats appear excited to explore new places, but their arrival quickly attracts danger. The criminal group Baroque Works becomes a major threat. The group is led by Mr. 0, played by Joe Manganiello.

Several new villains appear in the footage, including Miss All Sunday, played by Lera Abova. She warns Luffy that he will watch his friends die in the Grand Line. Other Baroque Works members set to appear include Miss Wednesday, Mr. 3, Mr. 5, Miss Valentine, Mr. 9, and Miss Goldenweek. Returning enemies like Buggy and Smoker will also continue to chase the crew.

The main cast returns for the new season. Iñaki Godoy is back as Luffy, alongside Emily Rudd, Mackenyu, Jacob Gibson, and Taz Skylar. According to Collider, showrunner Matt Owens worked on this season with Joe Tracz, but this will be Owens’ final season before Ian Stokes joins the team for Season 3, which is already in production.

Netflix is also planning global fan events to celebrate the release. Screenings will begin in Mexico City on February 23 and continue through March in Rio de Janeiro.

Eiichiro Oda, the creator of the original manga, shared a message celebrating the upcoming season. He said the new episodes will break expectations and “shatter all the conventions that were established in Season 1.”

The new season clearly aims to be bigger and more ambitious than the first. Netflix is putting serious effort into making this adaptation last long term, and the global fan events show strong confidence in the series.
