Woo-seok taking on the role of Jinwoo had already been revealed back in July, and the reaction was very positive. He became well known for his roles in 20th Century Girl and Lovely Runner, where he showed that he could handle emotional scenes and intense action.
That combination makes him a strong choice for Jinwoo, a character who starts out as the weakest hunter but eventually transforms into one of the most powerful beings in the world. His story is all about that growth, and Woo-seok’s talent and versatility fit the role perfectly.
Han So-hee joining the project as Cha Hae In has made fans even more excited. She has starred in My Name, The World of the Married, and Gyeongseong Creature, proving herself as an actress who can play strong, determined characters.
In the manhwa, Hae In is not just a skilled hunter but also an important part of Jinwoo’s personal journey. Casting So-hee shows that Netflix is serious about bringing in big talent to match the importance of her role.
Directors Lee Hae-jun and Kim Byung-seo are leading the series. They have worked on films like Ashfall and Castaway on the Moon, which showed their ability to balance emotion with large-scale action.
Their experience should help the show capture both the dramatic side of Jinwoo’s story and the intense battles that fans love from the source material.
This announcement is part of Netflix’s bigger push to adapt anime and manhwa for global audiences. After the success of its live-action One Piece, the streamer is hoping Solo Leveling can become another worldwide hit. The manhwa already has a huge following, and with this cast, expectations are higher than ever.
The franchise itself is also growing beyond the screen. A new game, Solo Leveling: Arise Overdrive, is set to launch on Steam in November 2025, with console versions coming in 2026. With the anime continuing and now a live-action series in the works, Solo Leveling is becoming a massive multimedia franchise.
With Woo-seok as Jinwoo and So-hee as Hae In, fans are now more eager than ever to see how Netflix brings the story of the world’s weakest hunter rising to unstoppable power to life.
