Netflix’s Stranger Things Will End With Season 5

After almost three years of waiting, Netflix finally revealed when Stranger Things will return. Created by The Duffer Brothers, the popular series premiered on Netflix in July 2016. Currently, the latest, third season, premiered in July 2019, and the upcoming fourth season will finally drop on Netflix on May 27 (part 1), and July 1 (part 2) as Netflix officially announced yesterday.

By revealing the release date and official posters, Netflix yesterday finally started hyping up the upcoming Season 4, and the creators wrote a special later to fans, in which they revealed that after Season 4, one more season will be filmed, and that fifth season will bring the closure to the series.

Seven years ago, we planned out the complete story are for Stranger Things. At the time, we predicted the story would last four to five seasons. It proved too large to tell in four, but — as you’ll soon see for yourselves – we are now hurtling toward our finale. Season 4 will be the penultimate season; season 5 will be the last.” — Matt and Ross Duffer

The fans have been waiting for the fourth season for almost three years, and now we know that we are going to get it in two parts. The first five episodes of this 9-episode season will air on May 27, and the last four episodes will air five weeks later. You can check the official description for the upcoming season 4 below:

“It’s been six months since the Battle of Starcourt, which brought terror and destruction to Hawkins. Struggling with the aftermath, our group of friends are separated for the first time – and navigating the complexities of high school hasn’t made things any easier. In this most vulnerable time, a new and horrifying supernatural threat surfaces, presenting a gruesome mystery that, if solved, might finally put an end to the horrors of the Upside Down.” — Stranger Things Season 4, official synopsis

Two things are for sure, season 5 will happen, and it will be the last one. We are just hoping that after Season 4 drops on Netflix we won’t wait for Season 5 as much as we did for Season 4.
