‘Never’s End’ Trailer Reveals Tactical RPG with Elemental Combat Coming to PS5 and PC in 2025

Hypersect has just revealed Never’s End, a new tactical RPG coming to PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam later in 2025. The game mixes turn-based combat with magic that changes the battlefield in real-time, and there’s a trailer out now showing what players can expect.
The game is directed by Ryan Juckett, the founder of Hypersect, who previously worked on Destiny as a lead sandbox gameplay engineer.
The character designs are being done by Masayoshi Nishimura, known for Triangle Strategy and Octopath Traveler, and the soundtrack is composed by Doseone, who worked on Enter the Gungeon and Gang Beasts.
In Never’s End, you play as an immortal warrior made of living metal, brought back to life in a world that’s almost completely destroyed. Players will control a group of warriors trying to protect the last human city from a force called the Never, which has twisted the world with monsters and deadly creatures.
The magic system lets you control fire, water, wind, and earth, not just for attacks, but to actually change the environment around you.
Battles are turn-based, but the big twist is how you can reshape the land as you fight. You can flood areas, freeze enemies, make fog or rain to block vision, or even break the ground to make lava. That changes the way you approach every fight.
Outside of battles, players can rebuild towns and temples, open up businesses, and form trade routes. Rebuilding temples gives you access to stronger magic, and finding new people for your team will help you explore more parts of the world. You can also bring back loot from each journey to support your settlements and grow your power.
The visuals mix 3D environments with pixel art characters, and the world is full of old ruins and strange creatures. According to Juckett, the game was inspired by tactical RPGs like Final Fantasy Tactics and Tactics Ogre, but also games like Divinity: Original Sin 2 and Breath of the Wild.
In a statement, Juckett said, “Never’s End fleshes out turn-based tactics combat with reactive systems empowering players to co-author the story and make it their own, which is a feeling we loved in Divinity: Original Sin 2 and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.”
Never’s End is set to launch in late 2025. The trailer is already out and gives a good look at how the world and magic systems will work.
