New ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Promo Art Puts Doctor Doom and Marvel’s Heroes Face To Face
Marvel’s ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ has kept fans busy with a steady stream of promotional material. Over the past few months, new art, merchandise and teasers have given fans better looks at Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom and the huge cast lined up to face him.
Recent cardboard standees and promo images have already shown many of the heroes in full costume. With the film’s December 18 release getting closer, the reveals keep coming.
The latest batch arrived this week. Cosmic Marvel shared new promotional art for ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ showing the characters in a series of circular, badge-style portraits. Each character sits inside a colored ring, with the colors appearing to group them by team. Doctor Doom gets a green ring, matching the green hood and cloak that have become central to his look.
The images show Doom more than once, which fits a marketing campaign that has repeatedly put the villain front and center. Several of the new portraits focus on Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. Anthony Mackie’s Captain America appears with his red goggles, Sebastian Stan’s Bucky Barnes wears his long hair and stubble, and Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man appears in full helmet.

The art also includes Black Panther in a sleek dark suit, along with a bearded character in a blue beret. Together, they reflect the mix of veteran and newer heroes joining the fight. The Fantastic Four also feature prominently. Pedro Pascal’s Reed Richards appears in his team’s blue suit, while Ebon Moss-Bachrach’s The Thing shows off his orange, rocky exterior.
A blond character in a matching blue suit appears to round out the team’s portraits. The group enters the film after previous promo art grouped Doom, the Fantastic Four, the New Avengers and the X-Men for the larger showdown.
The mutants may be the biggest highlight for longtime fans. James Marsden’s Cyclops fires a red optic blast from his visor, while Ian McKellen’s Magneto wears his classic helmet in red and purple.

Rebecca Romijn’s Mystique appears in profile with her blue skin and red hair, and another blue-skinned X-Man appears beside her. Channing Tatum’s Gambit is shown with his signature headband.
The returning mutants are a big part of the film’s appeal. Earlier art showed Cyclops in a blue suit with yellow trim, replacing the black leather of the Fox films, and the new portraits keep that comic-inspired look.
The X-Men reunion carries extra weight now. Patrick Stewart, who returns as Professor X in the film, died on October 28 at the age of 86. Ian McKellen has noted that his longtime friend’s final performance is still to be seen in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’. That makes every new look at the classic X-Men lineup more meaningful for fans.

Previous teasers have shown Doom tossing Thor aside and commanding an army of Sentinels. Another showed Cyclops in the ruins of the X-Mansion. ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ follows next year. Before that, fans will see how these heroes come together when ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ hits theaters on December 18.
