New ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Promo Uses Clever Wordplay To Unite Marvel’s Biggest Teams

Marvel Studios is pulling out all the stops for ‘Avengers: Doomsday’. The Russo brothers’ crossover brings together the Avengers, the Wakandans, the Fantastic Four, the New Avengers, and the X-Men as heroes from different universes converge to face Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom amid the collapse of the multiverse.

With a lineup that big, the marketing has focused heavily on bringing those teams together visually. Earlier artwork showed the Avengers, Fantastic Four and X-Men logos colliding, while Tokyo’s Grand Cinema Sunshine displayed posters featuring the X-Men, Black Panther and Fantastic Four logos alongside a Doctor Doom standee.

Now another eye-catching piece of promotional art has arrived. Shared online on October 6, the latest ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ promo is built around 3 simple words: Assemble, Unite, and Family, each one tied to a different Marvel team.

The design cleverly blends each word with a team’s iconic symbol. “Assemble” appears in gleaming gold, with the Avengers’ signature “A” logo replacing the first letter. “Unite” is rendered in bold red, with the X-Men’s circular “X” emblem standing in for the final letter. “Family” appears in icy blue as “F4mily,” with the Fantastic Four’s “4” logo replacing the letter A.

The ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ logo sits beneath the 3 words. The “Family” choice also plays on how the Fantastic Four are often called Marvel’s First Family. The promo reflects one of the film’s biggest storytelling challenges: bringing heroes from separate realities together. The Fantastic Four previously appeared in 2025’s ‘The Fantastic Four: First Steps’, which was set in an alternate reality.

Marvel’s First Family traveled from their universe, Earth-828, into the world of the Avengers, as revealed in a tag attached to ‘Thunderbolts*’. ‘Doomsday’ will mark the first time they interact with the MCU’s established heroes.

The fourth teaser offered a glimpse of that crossover. It showed The Thing exiting an aircraft to meet Shuri, now Black Panther, and M’Baku, who introduces himself as the King of Wakanda, while Tenoch Huerta’s Namor also appeared.

That team-up has deep comic book roots. Black Panther made his Marvel Comics debut in ‘Fantastic Four’ #52 in July 1966. Sue and Reed’s cosmically powered son, Franklin, is also presumed to play a key role in setting the story in motion. That story will then continue into ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’.

This latest promo joins a steady stream of new material. Retro comic book-style art credited to hexfacility recently surfaced, featuring corner boxes with an emblem combining the Avengers, Fantastic Four and X-Men symbols.

The hype is translating into ticket sales, too. Disney revealed last month that ‘Doomsday’ had already surpassed $50 million in presales 3 months before its release. Fans online have been quick to point out the irony of the “Family” theme. Many joked that Doom is coming for this family, and the heroes will need every bit of unity they can find.

‘Avengers: Doomsday’ arrives in theaters on December 18 as part of the MCU’s Phase Six. ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ follows on December 17, 2027. With just over 2 months to go, expect even more creative promotional pieces as Marvel builds toward its biggest crossover in years. If this design is any indication, the studio knows exactly how to make fans excited about seeing these teams side by side.
