New BTS Shot of Ben Affleck in ‘Batman V. Superman’ Shared by Zack Snyder
Zack Snyder is giving fans a look behind the scenes of his movies on Instagram. Since joining the platform, he has been posting photos from his past projects.
His latest post features a Polaroid of Ben Affleck in the Batman suit from the filming of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Snyder captioned the photo, “Leica monochrome hard suit test BvS.”

Affleck played Batman in Batman v Superman and later appeared in Justice League and Suicide Squad. His performance received praise, but the role came with challenges. Filming Justice League was especially difficult for him, as the production changed dramatically after Snyder had to step away following the death of his daughter.
Joss Whedon took over to finish the film, and reports later suggested there was tension on set and creative disagreements. Critics, including Todd McCarthy of The Hollywood Reporter, noted that Affleck sometimes seemed disconnected, saying he “seemed like he’d rather be anywhere else.”
After Justice League, Affleck chose to step back from both acting in and directing The Batman. He explained that he needed time to find the right story and to focus on himself. During that period, he also addressed his struggles with alcohol and prioritized his recovery.
Snyder’s Instagram post brings fans back to the early excitement of seeing Affleck in the Batman suit. It captures a simple but memorable moment from a role that sparked both admiration and debate among audiences.
