New ‘Ghost in the Shell’ Anime Revealed with First Image and Story Details

A brand-new Ghost in the Shell anime is coming, and we just got our first look at it!
The new image was shared this Saturday (April 12) by the animation studio Science SARU, the same team behind Dandadan. The picture shows that the anime will have a style that looks more like the original manga.
The anime still doesn’t have an official title, but we do know some of the team working on it. The director is Mokochan, the writer is EnJoe Toh, and the character designs will be done by Shuhei Handa.
The new story will take place at the end of the 21st century, in a world where the line between humans and machines is no longer clear.
The main character, Major Motoko Kusanagi, is a powerful cyborg agent. Her mission is to hunt down the most dangerous and clever cybercriminals and terrorists. One group she will face are called “ghost hackers”, who can hack into minds and machines.
More details about the anime are still a mystery, but this first image already has fans excited!
