The first season of Fallout premiered on April 10, 2024, and quickly won over both fans and critics. Viewers praised the acting, especially from Ella Purnell, Aaron Moten, and Walton Goggins, as well as the writing, visuals, and how true it felt to the games. By the end of April, Prime Video renewed it for a second season, set to debut in December 2025, which was also confirmed today.

A third season was also confirmed in May 2025, even before season two hits screens. The series has earned 17 Primetime Emmy nominations, including Outstanding Drama Series and a Best Actor nod for Goggins.

While plot details for the new season are still under wraps, we know New Vegas will be front and center. Fans of the Fallout: New Vegas game will recognize it as home to the powerful and mysterious Mr. House, who was teased during the first season.

According to the showrunners, Mr. House will play a role in season two, though exactly how is still a mystery. Some fans worry the show might have to choose one “canon” ending from the game, but outlets like Nerdist think the writers can avoid locking the story into a single path.

The new season will see the return of characters like Lucy MacLean, Maximus, Cooper Howard (a.k.a. The Ghoul), and Norm MacLean, along with familiar faces such as Betty Pearson, Dane, and Thaddeus.

Robert House himself will appear, played by Rafi Silver. There are also new characters, including a “crazy genius” played by Macaulay Culkin and a high-ranking Brotherhood of Steel official portrayed by Kumail Nanjiani.

In interviews, co-showrunner Graham Wagner shared that the team originally planned to include deathclaws in season one but decided to hold off until they could “do it properly.” He confirmed that the terrifying creatures will finally appear in season two.

Between the return of fan-favorite characters, the addition of dangerous deathclaws, and the introduction of New Vegas, season two is shaping up to be even bigger than the first. The newly released poster is just the start of the hype as we count down to December.
