Marvel fans are getting excited for the new movie The Fantastic Four: First Steps, which is set to hit theaters in July 2025. Even though Galactus is basically a planet-eating “baby-snatcher,” Ralph Ineson doesn’t see the character as evil. “He’s a god of sorts… a big, planet-eating guy, simply doing what a big, planet-eating guy does,” Ineson explained. To prepare for the role, Ineson spent time alone on rooftops, trying to capture the calm and otherworldly energy of Galactus.
The movie’s director, Matt Shakman, described Galactus as a “humongous, 14-billion-year-old, planet-devouring cosmic vampire.” Galactus is so enormous in the film that previous teasers showed him walking through New York City, towering over the buildings.
Unlike many superhero movies, The Fantastic Four: First Steps doesn’t retell how the team formed. Instead, it jumps straight into the action. The world of the film mixes futuristic elements with a 1960s vibe, giving the movie a unique retro sci-fi feel. The Fantastic Four, played by Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Joseph Quinn, are already working as a team. Now, they must face Galactus and his herald, the Silver Surfer.
