Netflix is gearing up to release a new animated series called Splinter Cell: Deathwatch, based on the popular Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell video game series.

The show is produced by Ubisoft Film & Television and is expected to debut in late 2025. Fans got a new look at the series recently, along with the exciting news that Liev Schreiber will be the voice of Sam Fisher, the main character.

Sam Fisher is a skilled field commander leading a secret government unit called Fourth Echelon. This group focuses on stealthy counter-terrorism missions, and Schreiber’s voice brings a fresh take on the spy’s intense and serious personality.

The series has been in the works for a few years. Back in July 2020, Ubisoft announced they were making an animated Splinter Cell show for Netflix.

Derek Kolstad, known for his work on action-packed projects, was hired as the lead writer and executive producer. While early reports mentioned a two-season order, Kolstad later clarified that only the first season had been officially approved and that the show would take some time before it hits screens.

A big change in casting came in August 2024 when Michael Ironside, who voiced Sam Fisher in the video games, said he felt too old to continue the role for TV. Shortly after, Netflix revealed the new first look at the series and confirmed that Schreiber would be stepping in as Fisher’s voice.

The animation work is being handled by Sun Creature Studio, based in Denmark and France, along with the French studio Fost.

According to various sources, including announcements from Ubisoft and Netflix, the series will arrive on Netflix by the end of 2025. Fans can’t wait to see how this new animated take on the classic franchise will unfold.

Keep an eye out for more updates as we get closer to the release!
