Marvel Studios has released a new clip from its upcoming Disney+ series Wonder Man, giving fans an exciting first look at the latest addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The series, created by Destin Daniel Cretton and Andrew Guest, follows Simon Williams, a struggling actor trying to land the lead role in a remake of the in-universe Wonder Man film.

Yahya Abdul-Mateen II stars as Simon Williams, who eventually gains superpowers, including super strength, speed, and the ability to create massive explosions. “He’s incredibly powerful in a way that even he is not fully aware of,” showrunner Andrew Guest said, with Marvel executive Brian Gay adding, “Simon doesn’t even know the extent of what his powers are, but he just wants to be an accomplished actor.”

Ben Kingsley returns as Trevor Slattery, the failed actor who once played the Mandarin and is now trying to rebuild his career. Slattery forms a complicated friendship with Simon while also seeing him as someone to exploit. Executive producer Brad Winderbaum described Slattery’s story arc as “very sincere, very earnest, not cynical.”

Kingsley noted that Slattery faces a choice between ambition and a heavy personal cost. This series also concludes Slattery’s story, following his appearances in Iron Man 3 (2013) and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (2021).

The cast also includes Arian Moayed as P. Cleary, a Department of Damage Control agent, X Mayo, Zlatko Burić as director Von Kovak, Olivia Thirlby, and Byron Bowers as DeMarr Davis, also known as Doorman. Additional actors like Demetrius Grosse, Ed Harris, and Josh Gad appear in key roles, with Simon’s family, including his mother Martha Williams, also part of the story.

Fans can now get a taste of what’s to come thanks to the new clip, which shows Simon navigating Hollywood while discovering the limits of his powers. With the series blending superhero action and comedy, it promises to offer something different for MCU viewers.
