THR reports that Hulu has just ordered a new detective drama, initially announced in September as production picked up on the series pilot. The murder-mystery centers around former world’s greatest detective Rufus Cotesworth and protégé Imogene digging the truth in a wealthy sailing boat in the Mediterranean where everyone is hiding something.
The detective Cotesworth will be played by Mandy Patinkin – best known for portraying Inigo Montoya in 1987’s The Princess Bride and for his role as Saul Berenson in Showtime’s Homeland. Hulu has ordered 10 hour-long episodes of Career Opportunities in Murder and Mayhem, and according to synopsis, the show will include the difficulties that accompany solving a murder in a “post-fact world.”
The show is written by Mike Weiss and Heidi Cole McAdams, who will also work as co-showrunners. Alongside Patinkin, the series casts Violett Beane as Imogene, Lauren Patten (The Good Fight), Angela Zhou (Promising Young Woman), Rahul Kohli (Midnight Mass), Hugo Diego Garcia, and Pardis Saremi.
Career Opportunities in Murder and Mayhem is Patinkin’s newest streaming series as the actor was previously featured on Paramount+’s The Good Fight. He has also recently earned an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for his portrayal of Saul Berenson in eight-season Showtime’s Homeland.
The release date of the series and more details on the story are yet to be announced. In the meantime, check out the official logline below:
