New Official Poster Gives a Stunning Look at Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Odyssey
Christopher Nolan is taking on one of the most famous stories in literature with his new film, The Odyssey. T
he movie adapts Homer’s classic epic poem and follows Odysseus, the king of Ithaca, as he tries to return home after the Trojan War and reunite with his wife, Penelope. Universal Pictures will release the film in the United States on July 17, 2026.
A new poster for The Odyssey has been revealed. The poster gives fans their new official look at the scale and tone of the film, hinting at the epic journey that awaits in theaters next year.

Matt Damon stars as Odysseus. Nolan has described the character as “an amazing strategist, [and] a very wily person,” and said he was drawn to Odysseus’s cleverness and resourcefulness. Anne Hathaway plays Penelope, while Tom Holland takes on the role of Telemachus, Odysseus’s son, determined to find his father.
Zendaya appears as Athena, the goddess protecting Odysseus. Robert Pattinson is cast as Antinous, one of Penelope’s suitors, and Charlize Theron plays Circe, a goddess and witch. The movie also includes Jon Bernthal, John Leguizamo, Himesh Patel, Will Yun Lee, Mia Goth, Lupita Nyong’o, Elliot Page, Benny Safdie, and many others in supporting roles.
The story promises epic adventure, with Odysseus facing dangerous mythical creatures and gods on his journey home. He encounters the Cyclops Polyphemus, the Sirens, and Circe, among others, all while trying to reach his wife and family.
