With the One Piece anime now on hiatus until April, attention has fully shifted to Netflix’s live-action series.

Fans are counting the days until Season 2 arrives, especially after the long two-year wait since the first season. According to Netflix, Season 2 is set to premiere on March 10, 2026, and excitement is building fast.

One big reason for that hype is Tony Tony Chopper. The lovable reindeer doctor is finally making his live-action debut, and he is easily the character fans are most excited to see. Chopper was featured in a brand-new teaser trailer that dropped during Jump Festa 2026.

The trailer focuses on Chopper and highlights his different voices across multiple language dubs. It also confirms that Ikue Otani, who voices Chopper in the anime, will return to voice him again in the Japanese dub of the live-action series. This detail was shared as part of the official Jump Festa updates.

Netflix renewed the live-action One Piece for a second season just two weeks after Season 1 was released, showing strong confidence in the series. Filming for Season 2 began in June 2024 and wrapped up by December, according to statements from the production team. Even before Season 2 airs, Netflix has already renewed the show for a third season, with that announcement coming in August.

Chopper was first teased back on September 14, 2023, when series creator Eiichiro Oda appeared in a video announcing the Season 2 renewal. Since then, Netflix and the show’s social media accounts have slowly revealed more details. In May 2024, a video celebrating Luffy’s birthday teased the appearance of Mr. 3, adding to fan speculation about the Alabasta saga.

Casting news for Season 2 has been extensive. Netflix confirmed new actors throughout June 2024, including Daniel Lasker as Mr. 9, Camrus Johnson as Mr. 5, Jazzara Jaslyn as Miss Valentine, and David Dastmalchian as Mr. 3. Other major cast additions include Clive Russell as Crocus, Brendan Murray as Brogy, Werner Coetser as Dorry, Callum Kerr as Smoker, Julia Rehwald as Tashigi, Rob Colletti as Wapol, and Ty Keogh as Dalton.

More announcements followed later in 2024 and 2025. Katey Sagal was confirmed to play Dr. Kureha, while Mark Harelik was cast as Dr. Hiruluk. This came after producer Becky Clements explained that Jamie Lee Curtis could not take the role due to scheduling conflicts.

Additional cast members include Sendhil Ramamurthy as Nefertari Cobra, Charithra Chandran as Miss Wednesday, Joe Manganiello as Mr. 0, and Lera Abova as Miss All Sunday.
