New Poster Spotlights Fresh Look for ‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms’
Big news for Game of Thrones fans. HBO just dropped a new official poster for A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, and it looks awesome.

This upcoming series is created by George R.R. Martin himself together with Ira Parker. It’s another prequel set in the same world as Game of Thrones, but it happens about 90 years before all that madness with the Iron Throne.
The story comes straight from Martin’s Tales of Dunk and Egg books, starting with the first novella called The Hedge Knight.Peter Claffey plays Dunk, a tall, kind-hearted knight from the streets who has no fancy family name.
Dexter Sol Ansell is his young squire Egg – who is actually a secret Targaryen prince named Aegon hiding his bald head under a hat. You’ll also see Finn Bennett as the arrogant prince Aerion Brightflame, Bertie Carvel as the wise prince Baelor Breakspear, Tanzyn Crawford as a puppeteer named Tanselle, Daniel Ings as the stormy-tempered Lyonel Baratheon, and Sam Spruell as the strict prince Maekar.
The first season has six episodes and will start airing on HBO and Max on January 18, 2026. It was originally supposed to come out in late 2025, but they moved it a bit. The cool part? HBO already loved what they saw so much that they renewed the show for a second season back in November, and that one should arrive sometime in 2027.
