Milly Alcock is gearing up for her own Supergirl movie set to release in 2026, but fans have already seen her make a debut in the recent Superman film. Her character, Kara, shows up near the end to pick up her dog, Krypto.

Fans quickly noticed something unusual, Kara appears visibly drunk and even calls Superman a b****. Clark explains this by saying Supergirl parties on planets orbiting a Red Sun because she can’t get drunk on Earth, thanks to the Yellow Sun’s effect on Kryptonian metabolism.

Even though Kara and Clark share only a brief scene, viewers immediately felt the chemistry between Superman, Supergirl, and Krypto. Recently, a behind-the-scenes photo surfaced that perfectly captures that connection, getting fans excited about the possible team-up everyone’s hoping for.

This Supergirl and Superman team-up might happen sooner than expected. Before the Superman movie even came out, David Corenswet, who plays Superman, revealed that he signed a contract for multiple appearances.

Around the same time, James Gunn, the director of the Superman movie, shared that a sequel is already planned. However, Gunn said it won’t be a straightforward follow-up but might be a team-up film instead.

Just a few days ago, Gunn confirmed he’s already writing the sequel. Warner Bros. CEO David Zaslav added that Gunn won’t just write but also direct the next film in what he called the “Super-Family.”

As for the upcoming Supergirl movie, it’s being directed by Craig Gillespie and written by Ana Nogueira, it will be the second movie in the new DCU. Milly Alcock stars as Supergirl, with Matthias Schoenaerts, Eve Ridley, David Krumholtz, and Emily Beecham also in the cast. The story follows Supergirl as she travels across the galaxy on a dangerous quest for revenge. James Gunn and Peter Safran of DC Studios are producing the film.

The movie is based on the popular 2021–22 comic series by Tom King and Bilquis Evely. Ana Nogueira joined as writer by late 2023, and Milly Alcock was cast in early 2024, debuting first in Superman (2025). Craig Gillespie joined as director in May 2024, with filming taking place from January to May 2025 in England and Scotland. The subtitle ‘Woman of Tomorrow’ was dropped by mid-2025.

Warner Bros. plans to release Supergirl on June 26, 2026, as part of DCU’s Chapter One: Gods and Monsters.

Fans are clearly eager to see these two heroes share the screen more, and it looks like that moment is coming soon.
