New ‘Superman’ Trailer Unleashes First Look At Super Breath
A new international Superman trailer has just dropped, and it gives fans a clear look at how this version of the hero will act, fight, and even speak. One of the most talked-about scenes shows Superman using his Super Breath, something we haven’t seen in the teasers before.
In the clip, he uses it to rescue a dog during a giant monster attack in Metropolis, blowing the animal out of harm’s way. It’s a quick moment, but it shows the kind of hero this Superman is: thoughtful and powerful at the same time.

The trailer also features another big action scene where Superman goes up against The Engineer, one of the movie’s villains. During the fight, he fires beams of heat from his eyes, his Heat Vision, trying to stop her from advancing. These powers are staples of Superman in the comics, and it looks like this movie is making sure to use them in exciting and modern ways.
At the end of the trailer, there’s a funny little moment that shows more of Clark Kent’s personality. After his dog, Krypto, causes a mess in the Fortress of Solitude, Clark just says, “What the hey?” That line tells us a lot about the tone James Gunn is going for, a Superman who’s powerful but still a good guy from Kansas who doesn’t even swear.
Along with the trailer, James Gunn also shared a new poster. Superman stands front and center, but we also see characters like Lex Luthor, Lois Lane, Jimmy Olsen, and Metamorpho, as well as the Justice Gang. The poster also confirmed the film’s release in China next month.
This Superman film marks a fresh start for the character and for DC’s new movie universe. James Gunn, who’s writing and directing the movie, has been shaping this new version of the DC Universe since 2022. David Corenswet takes on the role of Clark Kent, with Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor. The cast also includes Isabela Merced, Nathan Fillion, Edi Gathegi, and Anthony Carrigan.
The film is not linked to the earlier Superman movies with Henry Cavill. Those plans were dropped after major changes in the studio. Gunn’s new Superman story is completely separate and meant to lead off DC’s new series of films, starting with Chapter One: Gods and Monsters.
Filming took place in Norway, Georgia, and Ohio, with most of the work done in Atlanta. Shooting wrapped earlier this year. Gunn has said that the movie takes inspiration from the All-Star Superman comic by Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely.
The story follows Clark as he tries to find balance between his life as an alien from Krypton and his human upbringing in Smallville, Kansas. It’s not just about him saving the world — it’s also about how he connects to people and the values he was raised with.
Superman opens in U.S. theaters on July 11, 2025.
