The Lord of the Rings franchise is one of the most known fantasy franchises in history. Ever since J.R.R. Tolkien wrote original novels, and after the popularity of the franchise exploded with Peter Jackson’s legendary movie trilogy, the Lord of the Rings franchise keeps entertaining fans through all sorts of media, and one of them is also video games.
Lord of the Rings franchise spawned numerous video games. Some were good, some were bad. The last two games, Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, and Middle-earth: Shadow of War were released in 2014 and 2017, respectively. Both games received positive reviews, and after trying out the Lord of the Rings vibe in those open-world games, Lord of the Rings gamers cannot wait for the next AAA game.
The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is an upcoming video game. Centered on the titular character Gollum, the game takes place before the events of Peter Jackson’s films. The game was announced by Daedalic Entertainment in 2019, with the release date set for 2021. But the game was later delayed to 2022. The specific release date is still unknown, but we might find it out soon enough.
The Game Awards posted on Twitter a new 10-second teaser for the game, revealing that more about the game will be revealed at The Game Awards event on December 9. Check the tweet below:
