New Trailer for ‘Chainsaw Man: The Movie – Reze Arc’ Has Been Released
A brand new trailer has dropped for Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc, the next big step in the Chainsaw Man anime story. The movie is based on Tatsuki Fujimoto’s hit manga series and follows the events of the first anime season.
The film was first announced back on December 17, 2023, during the Jump Festa ’24 event. It was confirmed again a year later at Jump Festa ’25, this time with Toho named as the distributor.
The studio MAPPA is once again handling the animation. Tatsuya Yoshihara is directing, and Hiroshi Seko is writing the script, both of them returning from the anime series.
Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc will open in Japanese theaters on September 19. Toho will also release it in 61 IMAX theaters at the same time. Outside Japan, Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Releasing will handle the rollout. The movie will hit select Asian markets starting September 24 and then go worldwide, including the United States, on October 24.
The story picks up with Denji, who now lives as Chainsaw Man after merging with a Devil’s heart. He works with Special Division 4’s Devil Hunters, but his life takes a turn when he meets a mysterious girl named Reze. After spending time with Makima, Denji shelters from the rain and meets Reze, who works at a café. Their meeting sets the stage for the film’s events.
Everyone’s after his chainsaw heart.

Music for the movie is being composed by Kensuke Ushio, who also worked on the TV series. Popular artist Kenshi Yonezu is performing the main theme song, called Iris Out. There’s also an ending song, Jane Doe, a collaboration between Yonezu and Hikaru Utada. Yonezu already has history with the series, since he performed the first season’s opening track Kick Back.
Fans now have the trailer to watch while waiting for the big premiere. The new preview gives the first real look at Reze and hints at the darker twists ahead.
