Marvel fans have more reasons to be excited as new casting news drops for the upcoming Disney+ series Vision Quest. The show is a spin-off from WandaVision and will bring Paul Bettany back as Vision. It’s set to premiere in 2026 and will be part of Phase Six of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Vision Quest is being led by Terry Matalas, who is also directing some episodes. Filming began in March 2025 at Pinewood Studios in London and wrapped in late July. The series will have eight episodes and is based on the Marvel Comics character White Vision, connecting directly to the MCU movies. It’s part of the same trilogy as Agatha All Along and WandaVision.

During a panel at Star Trek Las Vegas, Matalas revealed two big casting updates. Todd Stashwick will play Paladin, and Orla Brady will take on the role of F.R.I.D.A.Y., Tony Stark’s AI assistant. Brady is best known for playing Laris in Star Trek: Picard. Matalas spoke highly of working with Marvel, saying it has been “a wonderfully collaborative experience.”

F.R.I.D.A.Y. was previously voiced by Kerry Condon, who recently appeared in Skeleton Crew and in the upcoming Brad Pitt movie F1. Brady now steps into the role as the AI that replaced J.A.R.V.I.S. after he became Vision.

James Spader is also returning as Ultron, a role he played in Avengers: Age of Ultron. There’s talk that Spader might appear in live action, though it’s unclear if that will be Ultron taking human form or a hologram, similar to what was seen in Ironheart. T’Nia Miller has joined the cast as Jacosta, an AI character from Marvel Comics who was created by Ultron but later sided with the Avengers.

The series has been in development since October 2022. At first, Jac Schaeffer was set as head writer, but she left the project by May 2024, and Matalas took over to redevelop it. With filming now finished and a strong cast in place, Vision Quest is shaping up to be one of the MCU’s most talked-about shows in the coming year.
