‘Newlyweds’ Episode 3 Release Date, Time, Where to Watch and Preview

Share:

The third episode of ‘Newlyweds’ is listed for Nov. 6 under the title “We’ll Never Have Paris.” Reelgood’s episode guide gives the same date. For viewers following the new NBC comedy week to week, it comes after the pilot and a second episode titled “My Place or Yours,” which is scheduled for Oct. 30.

This guide covers the release date, air time, streaming options and a preview of what the ‘Newlyweds’ episode has in store. The series follows Jeanie, a free spirited woman played by Téa Leoni, who marries James, a buttoned up professor played by Tim Daly, after a whirlwind courtship. Jamie Lee Curtis, who co-created the show, also appears as James’ quirky former wife.

‘Newlyweds’ Episode Release Date

Rotten Tomatoes places “We’ll Never Have Paris” on Nov. 6. Reelgood lists the same premiere date in its season one rundown. That keeps the show on a steady weekly rhythm, since new episodes debut on Fridays.

The series began with its pilot on Oct. 23. That first episode introduces Jeanie and James as they meet on a blind date, begin a romance that spans two continents and decide to marry just six weeks after meeting. The third episode picks up the story after that fast courtship has already become a marriage.

Longer term plans remain open. NBC has not yet made a decision on a second season. Leoni told TV Insider she is eager to reach a second and third year because she wants to learn more about these characters.

Air Time on NBC

‘Newlyweds’ airs at eight thirty p.m. ET and PT on NBC, following new episodes of ‘Happy’s Place’ at eight. That pairing places the later in life romance directly behind another network sitcom on Friday nights. For the third episode, the same slot should apply.

TV Insider’s listing shows the show on Fridays at eight thirty p.m. Eastern and seven thirty p.m. Central. Viewers in other time zones can adjust from the ET and PT schedule above. Local listings remain the most reliable check for a specific market.

Canadian audiences have their own broadcast home. The series premiered on CTV at seven thirty p.m. ET on Oct. 23, and episodes can be streamed on demand through Crave. That gives viewers north of the border both a live option and a catch up option each week.

Where to Watch ‘Newlyweds’ Online

For American viewers, the simplest streaming route is Peacock. Episodes stream on Peacock the day after their NBC debut. Epicstream reports the pilot became available to stream on Saturday, Oct. 24, at six a.m. ET, with each new episode following the next day. Following that pattern, the third episode should land on Peacock on Nov. 7.

Reelgood notes that viewers can stream the show on Peacock Premium or Peacock Premium Plus. The Peacock app also lets subscribers save eligible episodes for offline viewing on compatible mobile devices. That makes it easy to keep up with the series without being tied to a Friday night broadcast.

Streaming access outside North America looks different. In Australia, the series is available on HBO Max with an active subscription. Availability can change by region, so checking a local service before the airdate is a sensible habit.

Episode Preview and Cast Details

The official synopsis for “We’ll Never Have Paris” says James and Jeanie cannot get a moment alone during their at-home mini-moon. Early reviews describe the plans being thwarted by Claudia and Jeanie’s children, which leads to a series of humorous exchanges. The premise suits a show built on two households colliding.

One review calls it the strongest of the episodes provided to critics, pointing to a scene where James comforts a distraught Poppy after a breakup. Another review highlights the banter between Curtis’ Claudia and Bill O’Neill’s Arvid, also known as Milky. Those early notes suggest the ensemble carries much of the episode.

Beyond Leoni, Daly and Curtis, the cast includes Emma Meisel, Ignacio Diaz-Silverio, Bill O’Neill and Al Madrigal. Meisel plays Poppy and Diaz-Silverio plays Lolo, Jeanie’s adult children who still live at home. The show marks the first time Leoni and Daly have shared the screen since ‘Madam Secretary.’

The origin of the series is just as grounded. Curtis told TV Insider the idea came after she heard a driver in New York mention a new wife, which made her see a sitcom about people in their sixties and early seventies who marry on a whim. If you have followed Jeanie and James since the pilot, does a mini-moon that never gets a quiet moment feel like the right test for their whirlwind marriage?

I left “finale” out of the title because the third episode is not a finale, and the sources show the season continuing past it.
