Paris Fashion Week is always packed with famous faces, but every so often a moment comes along that genuinely catches the crowd off guard. This season, that moment belonged to Miranda Kerr. The former Victoria’s Secret model’s runway return turned an already star-studded show into one of the most talked-about events of the week.

Kerr has been a fixture of the fashion world since she was a teenager. She began modeling at just 13, after winning a 1997 competition in Australia, and later signed with Next Management in New York before landing a string of runway appearances.

In recent days, however, she had been making headlines in Paris as a guest rather than a model, wearing a strapless blue Dior gown with a gathered bow detail at one event and a black midi dress with ruffling at the waist at another.

On September 30, Kerr walked the Stella McCartney Spring/Summer 2027 show, strutting down a catwalk for the first time in nearly a decade. The 43-year-old came out of retirement to surprise the Paris Fashion Week crowd, and the reaction quickly spread across social media.

For the occasion, she wore a pale seafoam Stella McCartney gown with padded shoulders, waist cutouts, and knotted draping. She carried a small metallic textured clutch, with slim silver sandals visible beneath the hem. Her beauty look kept things refreshingly simple. Kerr wore her long brown hair in a sleek braid plaited down her back, letting her dewy complexion and soft pink lipstick shine.

The runway moment came just hours after another appearance for the brand. Earlier the same day, she wore a black Stella McCartney dress with thin straps, a fitted bodice, and a pronounced ruffled peplum at the waist, paired with a narrow midi skirt and pointed pumps.

The 2 outfits made for a striking contrast. While the black dress drew attention to the waist with its dramatic volume, the runway gown reversed that emphasis, placing its widest point across the shoulders while cutting the waist open and drawing it into a central knot.

Kerr wasn’t the only famous face on the catwalk. The show was staged on a rain-soaked runway in the British ambassador’s gardens, with Karlie Kloss also among the models. Jennifer Lopez sat front row under an umbrella, while Juliette Binoche was seated nearby.

The atmosphere matched the collection’s mood. Models walked through the greenery to PJ Harvey’s ‘Down by the Water’, and the designs blended sharp tailoring with softer textures such as lace, knitwear, and faux-fur details.

As always with Stella McCartney, sustainability was front and center. The label has never used leather, fur, or feathers in its 25 years, and this season McCartney took aim at the fishing industry, with dolphins appearing on T-shirts. That oceanic theme made Kerr’s seafoam gown feel especially fitting.

The CelebMafia coverage of her earlier black look also noted an oversized shark-and-ocean backdrop at the event, reinforcing the marine theme that ran throughout the brand’s presentation. Part of what made the comeback so memorable was its sense of surprise.

Kerr had spent the week as a stylish attendee, so seeing her back on the runway after so many years felt like a genuine throwback for fans who remember her catwalk heyday. Whether this is a one-off appearance or the start of a bigger return to modeling remains to be seen. Either way, she proved she hasn’t lost her runway presence.
