The first trailer for “Masters of the Universe” has finally dropped, sending fans straight back to Eternia. Amazon MGM Studios and Mattel Studios released the teaser on Tuesday, revealing Nicholas Galitzine as Prince Adam, better known as He-Man.

According to the official logline, “After being separated for 15 years, the Sword of Power leads Prince Adam (Nicholas Galitzine) back to Eternia where he discovers his home shattered under the fiendish rule of Skeletor (Jared Leto). To save his family and his world, Adam must join forces with his closest allies, Teela (Camila Mendes) and Duncan/Man-at-Arms (Idris Elba), and embrace his true destiny as He-Man — the most powerful man in the universe.”

The live-action adaptation is directed by Travis Knight and written by Chris Butler, along with Aaron Nee, Adam Nee, and Dave Callaham. The cast is stacked with talent, including Alison Brie, James Purefoy, Morena Baccarin, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson, Charlotte Riley, and Kristen Wiig. Producers on the project include Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal, Robbie Brenner, Steve Tisch, and DeVon Franklin, with executive producers Ynon Kreiz, Bill Bannerman, and David Bloomfield.

The “Masters of the Universe” franchise has a long history. Mattel first launched the He-Man action figures in 1982, followed by the animated series “He-Man and the Masters of the Universe” in 1983. The show ran for two seasons with 130 episodes and inspired the 1985 animated movie “The Secret of the Sword,” which later led to “She-Ra: Princess of Power.” Over the years, the story has been rebooted multiple times, including in 1990, 2002, 2018, and 2021, with Netflix reviving “She-Ra and the Princesses of Power” in 2018.

“Masters of the Universe” is not yet rated and is set to hit theaters on June 5, promising fans an epic return to Eternia filled with adventure, action, and the iconic power of He-Man.

The trailer makes it clear this version will lean into both spectacle and nostalgia, giving longtime fans a fresh take while introducing He-Man to a new generation. Are you excited to see Nicholas Galitzine wield the Sword of Power? Share your thoughts in the comments.
