Nikki Glaser opened up about her unexpected connection to Judd Apatow and Leslie Mann during a recent appearance on SiriusXM’s The Howard Stern Show. The comedian, who hosted the 2026 Golden Globes, shared stories from her time babysitting the couple’s daughters, Maude and Iris, before they became Hollywood stars.

β€œIt’s such a special moment for me that I started out as his babysitter,” Glaser said. She recalled that the job was back in 2007 while Apatow was working on Funny People. Glaser added that the couple β€œpaid well”, sharing, β€œIt was like $35, $40 an hour, which was more than I [had] ever been paid to babysit.” She also said the girls were easy to care for, calling them β€œso sweet” and β€œso funny, like their parents.”

One moment that stood out for Glaser was an unexpected call from Adam Sandler. β€œHe was like, β€˜Hello.’ I was like, β€˜Hi.’ And he was like, β€˜Hello, Maude, this is Adam.’ I was like, β€˜Oh no, this is the babysitter,’” she recalled. Glaser said the conversation stuck with her because Sandler didn’t skip a beat, asking about her night, which she described as β€œthe nicest call I’ve ever gotten when I was babysitting.”

Glaser also reflected on her experience hosting the Golden Globes, where she got laughs with her sharp jokes aimed at stars like George Clooney, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Michael B. Jordan. During the ceremony, she quipped about DiCaprio’s career and jokingly referenced his personal life. β€œLeo, I’m sorry I made that joke, it’s cheap,” she said during the broadcast, showing she was aware of the balance between humor and respect.

She also revealed that not all her jokes made it to the stage. Some, including a line about Sydney Sweeney, were cut before airing.

Glaser’s stories give fans a glimpse into her personal history with Hollywood icons and the playful moments she experienced both behind the scenes and in front of the camera.

It’s so interesting to hear about celebrities’ lives before fame and how early connections can lead to funny or memorable moments later on.
