Noah Wyle Makes Rare Red Carpet Appearance with Wife Sara Wells at Actor Awards
Noah Wyle stepped onto the red carpet at the 2026 Actor Awards with his wife Sara Wells by his side. The couple attended the Los Angeles event together, dressed in formal evening looks. Noah wore a Balenciaga tuxedo, while Sara appeared in a navy strapless gown by Ines di Santo.
The night turned into a big win for Noah. He received the award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series for his role in The Pitt. The show also won for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series.
The series recently returned with its second season and has already been picked up for a third. Speaking with NPR, Noah explained one of the creative choices behind the show. He talked about the decision to avoid using background music.

He said, One of the decisions we made early on was to not employ any soundtrack on the show. And by lifting the music out, we’ve sort of removed the artifice that says you’re watching a TV show, and we need you to feel sad here ‘cause we’re playing strings or exciting here because we’re using percussion. We’re letting the sort of symphony of the sound of the procedures in the room be our cadence, and a lot of that is the technical jargon that the doctors are employing.”
“It becomes the soundtrack in the scene, and the intensity with which they’re delivering those lines becomes the emotional equivalent of a score. And it’s really less important the audience understands and more important that the audience sees that the doctors know what they’re talking about. It’s competency porn, he told NPR.
The second season continues the story months after the first season ended. It still follows a single hospital shift across its episodes.
The cast includes Sepideh Moafi, Fiona Dourif, and Shawn Hatosy. The show also reunites Noah with producer John Wells. Noah has also worked behind the camera by directing episodes of the new season.
His earlier sci-fi series Falling Skies has recently reached new viewers after arriving on Netflix. From his role as Dr. John Carter to his current character Dr. Michael Robby Robinavitch, Noah remains a familiar face in medical dramas.
