Olivia Dunne is giving fans a closer look at her new acting journey after joining the reboot of Baywatch.

She recently posted behind-the-scenes updates from filming in Malibu through her Instagram story. The project is a modern remake of the well-known 1990s series and brings together a mix of actors and social media personalities.

Dunne has officially started her acting career with this role after finishing her gymnastics run at LSU in 2025. In the show, she plays a junior lifeguard as part of a new group working along the Los Angeles coastline.

Reports from the set say she is filming alongside names like Shay Mitchell, Hassie Harrison, Brooks Nader, and Noah Beck.

The reboot is being developed by Fox, which has ordered a 12-episode season. The story follows a new generation of lifeguards, with a focus on the son of the original lead character stepping into a leadership role.

Since leaving competitive gymnastics, Dunne has been building a career in entertainment and media. She has also been managing a busy schedule that includes travel, public appearances, and supporting her boyfriend, MLB pitcher Paul Skenes.

She has shared clips online showing how packed her days can be, moving between filming, travel, and baseball games.

In one of her posts, she summed up her routine in a simple way, saying: “Wake up, watch MLB boyfriend pitch… jet to LA… film an episode of Baywatch…” and then continued listing more events and travel across different days.

Dunne has also spoken about her interest in acting. She explained: “It’s something I’ve been passionate about for quite some time. I was interested in doing that at LSU, but sports are your top priority when you’re a student-athlete at school.”

The casting choices for the reboot have sparked discussion online, especially with several influencers joining a well-known franchise. Some viewers have questioned the direction, while others are curious to see how it all comes together.

Still, production continues as the cast works on updating the series for a new audience while keeping the core idea of lifeguards on the California coast.

This is a bold move for a classic TV reboot. Mixing social media stars with traditional actors can bring attention, but it also raises pressure on everyone involved. It will be interesting to see if the show can balance nostalgia with a fresh style. What do you think about influencers joining big TV reboots like this? Share your thoughts in the comments.
