Wilde, who plays artist Erika Tracy, made a bold fashion statement on the red carpet by wearing a sleek, punk-inspired leather ensemble. She was joined by Cooper Hoffman, who portrays the “fresh-faced” Elliot. Although they play key roles in the movie, Charli XCX and Daveed Diggs were notably absent from the premiere event.

Gregg Araki directed, co-wrote, and produced the film, which marks his triumphant return to the director’s chair after more than a decade. The story centers on Elliot, a young college graduate who takes an internship with Erika Tracy, an art world provocateur.

Early reviews from the festival have praised the “lightning in a bottle” chemistry between Wilde and Hoffman. Olivia Wilde has been incredibly busy at Sundance this year, as she is actually pulling double duty with two major premieres. In addition to starring in I Want Your Sex, she is also making her directorial return with the comedy The Invite.
