Singer and actor Omar Apollo recently made waves by posting a bold full-frontal shot from his new movie ‘Queer.’ Sharing the image online, Apollo joined the celebration for the film’s digital release on platforms like Prime Video and iTunes in the US.

‘Queer,’ directed by Luca Guadagnino, is a daring and visually striking adaptation of William S. Burroughs’ novel. The film stars Daniel Craig as William Lee, a fictionalized version of the author. Lee, an American expat wandering through Mexico, spends his days stumbling from bar to bar, searching for romantic and sexual encounters with men.

Apollo appears early in the film, portraying a man Lee picks up in a bar. Their brief but steamy scenes culminate in an explicit, eye-catching full-frontal moment that has caught the attention of fans and critics alike.

Later in the movie, the focus shifts to Lee’s obsession with Eugene Allerton, played by Drew Starkey. The two men begin an affair and go on a journey deep into the South American jungle, seeking a psychedelic drug rumored to enable telepathy.

To mark the film’s home release, Omar Apollo took to Instagram, sharing a spicy image from his scene with Daniel Craig. In the photo, a shirtless Craig sits on a bed, looking stunned as a nude Apollo approaches him. Keeping things Instagram-safe, Apollo humorously covered his privates with a tongue-out emoji.

He captioned the post with playful humor, writing: “Queer available on streaming now for all the dLs that didn’t wanna go to theatre,” accompanied by a squinting emoji.

Fans and celebrities quickly reacted to the post, including Troye Sivan, who cheekily commented, “What platform?”

In a previous interview with Out magazine, Apollo opened up about preparing for his intimate scene with Craig.

I got the call and [they] told me about the scene and how explicit it was. I instantly just said yes. I was like, Yeah, of course. It’s Daniel Craig. Of course I’m down,” Apollo said, showing his excitement for the opportunity.

Despite the vulnerability involved in filming a nude scene, Apollo revealed he felt comfortable: “I wasn’t really fearful or anything. I was like, It’s kind of my reality. It’s not something that’s new to me.”

For fans in the US, ‘Queer’ is now available to stream on Prime Video, iTunes, and other digital platforms. UK viewers will have to wait a bit longer, but the film is expected to land on the streaming service Mubi in the near future.
