Hulu’s surprisingly acclaimed TV mystery-comedy Only Murders in the Building premiered last August with its first season. Starring Selena Gomez, Steve Martin, and Martin Short as Mabel, Charles-Haden, and Oliver, respectively, the second series of the series will premiere on Hulu on June 28, 2022, which is only nine months after the first season concluded with a huge cliffhanger.
Although the main mystery of the last season was solved in the finale, the new mystery already started, and it started pretty bad for our heroes. In the last scene of the first season, Oliver and Charles ran into Mabel who was covered in blood, with Bunny (Jayne Houdyshell) dead next to her. Seconds later, all three of them were taken out of the building in handcuffs.
You can check the video that Hulu revealed to announce Season 2 premiere date down below, along with the official synopsis:
“Following Bunny’s death, Charles, Oliver, and Mabel find themselves in a “race to unmask her killer. However, three (unfortunate) complications ensue: the trio is publicly implicated in Bunny’s homicide, they are now the subjects of a competing podcast, and they have to deal with a bunch of New York neighbors who all think they committed murder.” — Only Murders in the Building, Season 2, official synopsis
It’s not known for the ending of the first season will impact the second season, but it surely will. The main trio will return of course, but the second season will introduce some new characters. One of the new characters is Alice, played by Cara Delevingne. Delevingne recently commented on how it was to work on this series.
Selena is a very special friend, and it’s been so fun to get to work with her for the first time. Well, actually, second time. She actually hired me when I had just become a model, and she had designed a clothing line. We have known each other a long time. And, of course, working with Steve Martin and Martin Short is like a master class in comedy. I feel so lucky to get the opportunity.” — Cara Delevingne
