Oscar Nuñez Reportedly Set to Reprise His Role in ‘The Office’ Sequel Series on Peacock!

More than a year ago it was revealed that Greg Daniels is working on ideas for a possible follow-up to The Office called The Paper. The new series, which will stream on Peacock, will focus on the documentary crew from the original show as they find a new subject—a struggling historic newspaper in the Midwest.
The story will follow the publisher’s efforts to bring it back to life with the help of volunteer reporters.
Daniels will serve as an executive producer alongside Michael Koman, Howard Klein, Ben Silverman, and The Office creators Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant. However, Steve Carell, who played Michael Scott, has confirmed that he will not be returning for the new series.
The main cast of the show includes Domhnall Gleeson, Sabrina Impacciatore, Melvin Gregg, Chelsea Frei, Ramona Young, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Alex Edelman, Tim Key, and Eric Rahill. Recurring cast members feature Duane Shepard Sr., Allan Havey, Nate Jackson, Mo Welch, Nancy Lenehan, Molly Ephraim, and Tracy Letts.
Now industry insider Jeff Sneider reports that Oscar Nuñez will reprise his role in the upcoming show. Keep in mind that this information wasn’t confirmed by the official sources and is at this time still a rumor.
Núñez is best known for playing accountant Óscar Martínez on NBC’s The Office. His role as the witty and sarcastic accountant employee made him a fan favorite throughout the show’s run.
