‘Outlander: Blood of My Blood’ returns to the Highlands this Friday with its seventh episode of the season, titled “Heart of the Highlands,” set to arrive on Oct. 30 on Starz. The episode is part of a ten episode run that continues the parallel love stories of Jamie and Claire’s parents.

For viewers planning ahead, the details around the ‘Outlander: Blood of My Blood’ schedule are fairly simple. The prequel follows Ellen MacKenzie and Brian Fraser alongside Julia Moriston and Henry Beauchamp, with stories that span 18th century Scotland and World War I era England. Below is a look at when the episode arrives, where to stream it, and what the latest teaser suggests.

Release Date for the Seventh Episode

“Heart of the Highlands” follows “Small Mercies” on Oct. 23 and comes ahead of “The Dance,” which is scheduled for Nov. 6. That places the episode just past the midpoint of the season.

The second season premiered on Friday, Sept. 18, a date that was announced on June 1, also known as World Outlander Day. That day marks the anniversary of the publication of Diana Gabaldon’s first Outlander novel.

Starz revealed the season’s episode titles ahead of the premiere, and TV Insider suggested that “Heart of the Highlands” could represent the Scottish backdrop and the community at the center of the franchise. The season is set to close with an episode called “Twelfth Night.”

Release Time and Weekly Schedule

New episodes of ‘Outlander: Blood of My Blood’ drop on Fridays at 12 a.m. on the Starz app and Starz streaming platforms. That means app viewers can start the seventh episode just as Thursday night turns into Friday.

Episodes also premiere on Starz at 8:00 p.m. on Fridays. Viewers who prefer to watch live can plan around that evening slot, while those who stream can choose the midnight release.

Reelgood notes that new episodes stream every Friday, so there is no option to binge the season. Starz has not yet renewed the prequel for a third installment, though the network has invested in building out the franchise after the flagship series ended earlier this year.

Where to Watch in the US, Canada and Australia

In the United States, viewers can stream ‘Outlander: Blood of My Blood’ through Starz with a subscription, using either the Starz app or the Starz website. The first season is also available there for anyone who needs to catch up.

In Canada, the series can be watched on Starz through Crave, while in Australia it streams exclusively on Stan. Tom’s Guide reports that the Canadian release schedule matches the American one.

Release dates can shift by a day depending on the region. The Scotsman listed the second season launch as Saturday, Sept. 19 for its readers. That lines up with the Australian premiere on Stan, which also fell on Sept. 19.

Preview of What Comes Next

The season began hours after the events of the first season finale, with Julia and Henry separated once more. Henry has landed in a lunatic asylum in 1924, where doctors view his time travel story as a delusion born from PTSD and set about trying to fix him, leaving Claire alone while Julia tries to survive Lord Lovat.

For Jamie’s parents, the stakes are political as well as personal. The Highlands are split in two by the 1715 Jacobite Rising, which forces the clans to choose a side. Ellen convinces Brian to take up arms, and she also faces the anger of the MacKenzies and the Grants after the mysterious death of her former fiancé, Malcolm Grant.

A preview of the seventh episode describes a teaser in which Colum tells Ned that Ellen was poisoned, and Brian does his best to comfort Ellen, who claims she is cursed. Brian then races home to confront his father, Dougal comes home, someone knocks out Balloch, and Julia hugs Ellen.

The same teaser shows Julia asking Maisri whether she will ever see Claire again, and it appears she could time travel with a gemstone, while Bug and Murdina help Henry try to collect raw amethyst from a rocky cliff. If Henry does reach those gemstones, will Julia be the one to use one to get back to Claire, or does ‘Heart of the Highlands’ have a harder choice in store for her?
