Pamela Anderson, 58, Finally Talks About Romance with Liam Neeson, 73: “We Were Having Fun”
Pamela Anderson, 58, has opened up about her brief romance with Liam Neeson, 73. In a People magazine cover story published Tuesday, Anderson confirmed that the two actors were romantically involved, though she emphasized that their relationship was short-lived and they are no longer a couple.
“If you must know, Liam and I were romantically involved for a short while but only after we finished filming,” Anderson told People. She described spending an “intimate week” with Neeson at his New York home and recalled going out to dinner, where he introduced her as the “future Mrs. Neeson.”
After their week together, Anderson explained that they “went our separate ways to work on other films” but reconnected during promotions for their new movie, The Naked Gun, this past summer. “We were having fun,” she said, likening their time together to a “Nancy Meyers film.”
Despite the brief romance, Anderson emphasized that their relationship has grown into a lasting friendship. “We are better friends, in full honesty,” she told People, adding that they will “always be in each other’s lives.”
The pair starred together in the slapstick comedy The Naked Gun, which premiered in August. Their chemistry on set and during the film’s press tour fueled romance rumors, including a cheek kiss at the London premiere.
At the time, both actors were careful not to confirm anything. Neeson told the Today show in July, “I had never met Pamela before. We met on set. And we discovered we had a lovely, budding chemistry as two actors.”
Some speculated that the romance was part of a publicity strategy to promote the film. Anderson strongly denied this, saying, “I always was laughing when people thought, ‘Oh, that’s a publicity stunt.’ I’m like, ‘A publicity stunt?’ This is real. We have real feelings.”
From her comments, it’s clear that Anderson and Neeson’s relationship was genuine but short-term. Fans of the actors will be happy to know that they remain close friends despite the end of their romance.
